About Cora, Founder of Advanced Billing Solutions

Cora is a dedicated wife and mother of two boys with over 28 years of experience in the billing industry. Her journey into the mental health field began after working for several years in general dentistry and endodontics. Driven by a strong desire to succeed, Cora advanced to the role of Billing Manager, where she supervised a team of four billing professionals and oversaw the billing operations for an agency with more than 114 employees.

Cora has a comprehensive understanding of the many facets of medical billing, including insurance verification, authorizations, credentialing and contracting, service coding, electronic billing, and the management of electronic claim files (837P, 835). She is highly knowledgeable in payer regulations and requirements, payment reconciliation, denial management, and end-of-month procedures.

In addition to her billing expertise, Cora played a pivotal role in setting up her previous agency's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to electronically bill for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) services. She was instrumental in ensuring the system met the specific billing requirements set forth by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) for Medicaid services.

With extensive experience billing for various mental health services—including outpatient care, drug and alcohol treatment, medication management, respite, and residential services—Cora has a deep understanding of the unique needs of mental health providers. After years of working in an agency setting, she decided to leverage her expertise to create Advanced Billing Solutions, a specialized billing service focused on mental health practices.

Cora enjoys the simplicity and personal touch that comes with working with private practices, and she takes great pride in building one-on-one relationships with clients to ensure their specific needs are met.
